Stewart Ijames had two extra base hits as the Washington Wild Things (10-4) took home a 6-2 victory over the Joliet Slammers (5-9) at Silver Cross Field on Wednesday.
He homered in the second inning and doubled in the eighth inning.Zac Fuesser had an impressive outing against the Joliet Slammers' lineup. The Joliet Slammers managed just two hits off of Fuesser, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out three during his four innings of work.
Kody McFarland brought the heat against the Washington Wild Things during his outing. McFarland held the Washington Wild Things hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out two.
Andrew Busby was charged with his second loss of the year. He allowed six runs in four innings, walked none and struck out five.
The Washington Wild Things' Garrett Rau, Ijames and Jim Vahalik combined for four hits and three RBIs.
