The Gaithersburg Giants need walk-off single to beat the Bethesda Big Train, 2-1

A walk-off single from Connor Macalla brought home the winning run for the Gaithersburg Giants (4-2) in a 2-1 victory over the Bethesda Big Train (6-1) at Criswell Automotive Field on Tuesday.

Macalla led the Gaithersburg Giants' offensive threat, as he got on base two times in the game. He also drove in one runner. He singled in the ninth inning.

Brandon Grove went a perfect 2-2 at the plate for the Gaithersburg Giants. He singled in the fourth inning.

Brady Adam pitched lights out for the Gaithersburg Giants. The Bethesda Big Train managed just two hits off of Adam, who allowed no earned runs, walked four and struck out three during his five innings of work.

J.P. France was effective even in defeat, mowing down seven the Gaithersburg Giants batters and allowing zero runs.

Kyle Hamby recorded his first win of the year for the Gaithersburg Giants. He allowed one run over one inning. He struck out one, walked one and surrendered no hits.

Will Resnik (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked one, struck out four, and allowed one run.
