Atwood helps the Santa Barbara (CA) Foresters down the Sedalia (MO) Bombers 5-3

Colt Atwood went 2-4, sparking the Santa Barbara (CA) Foresters (1-0) to a 5-3 victory over the Sedalia (MO) Bombers (4-2) on Saturday at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium.

He doubled in the third inning and singled in the eighth inning.

The Santa Barbara (CA) Foresters got the win thanks in large part to Jon Duplantier's dominant, nine-strikeout performance. Duplantier allowed one earned run on four hits and two walks over seven innings.

Robert Prieto paced the Sedalia (MO) Bombers at the plate. Prieto went 3-4 and drove in one. He singled in the fourth, sixth, and eighth innings.

Winston Lavendier (1-1) took the loss for the Sedalia (MO) Bombers. He lasted just eight innings, walked one, struck out six, and allowed five runs.
