Abdiel Alicea went 2-3, sparking the Puerto Rico National Team (1-0) to a 5-2 victory over the Plaza Tire (MO) Capahas (0-1) on Friday at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium.

Marco Blanchard kept contact to a minimum, striking out 11 the Plaza Tire (MO) Capahas batters. Blanchard allowed two earned runs on seven hits and three walks over nine innings.

Sean Bard had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He doubled in the first and eighth innings.

Dylan Lynn pitched eight innings and allowed three earned runs, nine hits and two walks while striking out 10.

Lynn ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year.
