Dingus' single propels the South Florida Huskies past the Coral Springs Canes, 5-3

The South Florida Huskies (3-0)'s three first-inning runs built an early lead that helped bring home a 5-3 win over the Coral Springs Canes (0-1) on Wednesday at Coral Springs High School.

The South Florida Huskies scored in the first on an RBI single by Tre Dingus, an RBI double by Tyler Steiner, and an RBI single by Brynn Martinez.

Ross Garrett had an impressive outing against the Coral Springs Canes' lineup. The Coral Springs Canes managed just one hit off of Garrett, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out five during his two innings of work.

Vernon Trice was hot from the plate for the Coral Springs Canes. Trice went 3-5 and drove in one. He singled in the fifth, seventh, and ninth innings.

Cole Bumbales improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the South Florida Huskies. He struck out none, walked one and surrendered one hit.

Alan Carey was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just three innings, walked none, struck out two, and allowed five runs.
