The Sacramento Heat (14-18) jumped on the Top Speed Baseball (31-5) early on their way to a 9-6 win on Friday at Drake High in seven innings, scoring five runs in the first inning.

The Sacramento Heat scored in the first on an RBI single by Vinny Esposito, a two-run single by Danny Mayer, and a two-run single by Dan Deely.

It was a good day at the plate for the Sacramento Heat's Brett Loughlin. Loughlin went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the third inning and homered in the fifth inning.

Wes Koenig racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Top Speed Baseball. He homered in the first inning, doubled in the fourth inning, and singled in the sixth innings.

Jack Shelledy got the win, running his season record to 1-2. He allowed two runs over 1 1/3 innings. Shelledy struck out one, walked one and gave up five hits.

Andrew Millner (2-1) took the loss for the Top Speed Baseball. He lasted just one inning, walked one, struck out two, and allowed five runs.
