Valadez helps the Schaumburg Boomers down the Normal CornBelters 8-3

The Schaumburg Boomers (59-35) beat the Normal CornBelters (48-45) 8-3 on Tuesday at Schaumburg Baseball Stadium behind Michael Valadez, who knocked in three runs.

He singled in the sixth and eighth innings.

Charle Rosario allowed three earned runs, five hits and two walks while striking out four over seven innings of work.

A bright spot for the Normal CornBelters in the defeat was Ethan Elias, who allowed only two runs while striking out five.

Aaron Dudley was hot from the plate for the Normal CornBelters. Dudley went 1-4, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the sixth inning.

Kevin Brahney recorded his first win of the year for the Schaumburg Boomers. Brahney struck out none, walked none and gave up no hits.

Charley Short couldn't get it done on the hill for the Normal CornBelters, taking a loss. He allowed six runs in two innings, walked three and struck out two.
