The River City Rascals (56-34) beat the Washington Wild Things (52-37) 6-5 in seven innings on Thursday at T. R. Hughes Ballpark behind Hector Crespo, who went 3-3 at the plate.
He singled in the second, fourth, and fifth innings.It was a good day at the plate for the Washington Wild Things' Josh Henderson. Henderson went 1-3, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the fourth inning.
Even though Tommy Mendoza allowed five runs over five innings he still recorded the victory, his eighth of the season. Mendoza struck out six, walked two and gave up seven hits.
Alfonso Yevoli (3-5) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked none, struck out one, and allowed three runs.
