Michael Johnson had two extra base hits as the Gateway Grizzlies (47-37) took home a 6-4 victory over the Lake Erie Crushers (49-34) at All Pro Freight Stadium on Thursday.
He homered in the first inning, singled in the seventh inning, and tripled in the ninth inning.Ryan Hutchison got on base three times in the game for the Lake Erie Crushers. He scored one run and had one RBI. He homered in the third inning and singled in the fourth inning.
Brett Zawacki improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Gateway Grizzlies. Zawacki struck out two, walked none and gave up no hits.
Trevor Longfellow was charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out none, and allowed three runs.
