The Washington Wild Things outlast the Schaumburg Boomers in extras, 5-1

It took 10 innings, but the Washington Wild Things (44-26) managed to put away the Schaumburg Boomers (41-29) 5-1 on Wednesday at Schaumburg Baseball Stadium.

With the score tied at one in the tenth inning, Jose Dore came to the plate and doubled, bringing home Garrett Rau.

Rau reached base three times in the game for the Washington Wild Things. He doubled in the fifth inning and singled in the tenth inning.

Zac Fuesser pitched seven innings and allowed no earned runs, four hits and three walks while striking out four.

Despite the loss, the Schaumburg Boomers' Seth Webster dominated the Washington Wild Things' batters, giving up one run and striking out six.

Matt Purnell recorded his fifth win of the year for the Washington Wild Things. He struck out none, walked none and surrendered one hit.

Dexter Price (3-5) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just one inning, walked one, struck out none, and allowed four runs.
