A walk-off double from Grant DeBruin brought home the winning run for the Joliet Slammers (11-13) in a 7-6 victory over the Traverse City Beach Bums in 12 innings at Silver Cross Field on Thursday.
DeBruin had a hot bat for the Joliet Slammers. DeBruin went 2-6, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the second inning and doubled in the twelfth inning.
Russell Moldenhauer racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Joliet Slammers. He singled in the first and seventh innings and homered in the ninth inning.
Kody McFarland handled the Traverse City Beach Bums (11-13)'s lineup with ease, racking up six strikeouts. McFarland allowed three earned runs on six hits and one walk over seven innings.
Brett Zawacki got the win, running his season record to 3-0. Zawacki struck out none, walked none and gave up two hits.
Will Rankin (0-2) took the loss for the Traverse City Beach Bums. He lasted just 2 2/3 innings, walked none, struck out three, and allowed one run.
