Extra-inning thriller favors the Windy City ThunderBolts, 3-2 winners over the Washington Wild Things

The Windy City ThunderBolts (8-7) outlasted the Washington Wild Things (10-5) at CONSOL Energy Park 3-2 on Sunday after 10 innings.

With the score tied at two in the tenth inning, Ryan Soares came to the plate and singled, scoring Mike Torres.

Soares did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Windy City ThunderBolts, reaching base three times. He scored one run and had one RBI. He singled in the third and tenth innings.

Jessie Snodgrass pitched lights out for the Windy City ThunderBolts. Snodgrass held the Washington Wild Things hitless over three innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out two.

A bright spot for the Washington Wild Things in the defeat was Shawn Blackwell, who allowed only two runs while striking out five.

Zac Fuesser was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just one inning, walked none, struck out none, and allowed one run.
