The Gateway Grizzlies (8-2) beat the Frontier Greys (1-9) 3-1 on Monday at GCS Ballpark behind Xavier Macklin, who went 1-3 and hit a home run.

JaVaun West racked up six strikeouts in the the Gateway Grizzlies win. West allowed one earned run on three hits and two walks over five innings.

Ryan Hartman pitched lights out for the Frontier Greys. Hartman held the Gateway Grizzlies hitless over three innings, allowed no earned runs, walked three and struck out three.

Devon Pearson ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just four innings, walked one, struck out four, and allowed two runs.
