The Swift Current Indians (26-18) blew out the Yorkton Cardinals 9-3 on Monday at Mitchell Field after pouring on seven runs in the seventh inning.

The Swift Current Indians scored in the seventh on a two-run single by Eros Modena, an RBI single by Taylor Steen, a sacrifice fly by Darren Kolk, an RBI single by Justin Lee, an RBI single by Josh Johnson, and an RBI single by Matt Spillman.

The Yorkton Cardinals (18-27) jumped out to an early lead, but they were unable to hang on. The Yorkton Cardinals led until the seventh inning, but the Swift Current Indians took the lead back on a two-run single by Modena.

Modena racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Swift Current Indians.

Fernando Pena kept contact to a minimum, striking out seven the Yorkton Cardinals batters. Pena allowed three earned runs on five hits and one walk over seven innings.

Vin Whitenight (2-4) took the loss for the Yorkton Cardinals. He lasted just zero innings, walked two, struck out none, and allowed four runs.
