Fans were treated to a high-scoring affair Tuesday as the Lethbridge Bulls (27-13) outscored the Medicine Hat Mavericks (22-18) 15-8.
The two teams combined for 27 hits in the game.
Seven runs in the opening three innings allowed the Lethbridge Bulls to easily put away the Medicine Hat Mavericks. A two-run double by Nolan Bumstead during the first inning and , a two-run single by Brandon Bufton, an RBI double by Mitch Dornblut, an error, and a sacrifice fly by Taylor Hutchison in the second inning supplied the early offense for the Lethbridge Bulls.
Bufton racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Lethbridge Bulls.
Even though Ben Onyshko allowed five runs over six innings he still recorded the victory, his second of the season. Onyshko struck out four, walked four and gave up seven hits.
Michael Bucci ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He allowed seven runs in 1 2/3 innings, walked two and struck out one.
The Lethbridge Bulls hammered the Medicine Hat Mavericks pitching as six hitters had a field day, combining for 14 hits, 12 RBIs and 11 runs scored.
