The Yorkton Cardinals (15-19) and the Moose Jaw Miller Express (19-17) both had scoring chances on Friday, but it was the Yorkton Cardinals that were able to capitalize on them as they pulled out a 7-4 win at Ross Wells Park.

Kameron Mizzell got a hit in each of his three at bats. He singled in the second inning, doubled in the fourth inning, and homered in the fifth inning.

The Moose Jaw Miller Express had no answer for Vin Whitenight, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Whitenight held the Moose Jaw Miller Express hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two.

Danny Lokesak led the Moose Jaw Miller Express' offensive threat, as he got on base three times in the game. He scored one run and had one RBI. He singled in the fifth inning and doubled in the seventh inning.

Cole Roark improved to 1-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Yorkton Cardinals. He allowed three runs over six innings. He struck out two, walked one and surrendered nine hits.

Rusty Edwards couldn't get it done on the mound for the Moose Jaw Miller Express, taking a loss. He allowed seven runs in five innings, walked three and struck out five.

Mizzell, Cutter Runte and Nick Gotta helped lead the Yorkton Cardinals. They combined for seven hits and five RBIs.
