Kalei Contrades pitched seven shutout innings to lift the Medicine Hat Mavericks (23-18) to a 7-0 win over the Okotoks Dawgs (20-21) at Athletic Park.

The Medicine Hat Mavericks blew out the Okotoks Dawgs thanks to 12 hits, including zero extra base hits. The Medicine Hat Mavericks scored two runs in the seventh on the Medicine Hat Mavericks scored in the seventh on a solo home run by Michael Olson and an RBI double by Bryan Arthur.

Olson had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits.

Jon Richards couldn't get it done on the bump for the Okotoks Dawgs, taking a loss. He lasted just six innings, walked three, struck out five, and allowed four runs.

The Medicine Hat Mavericks' Arthur, Sheldon Daquioag, Olson and Garrett Wiese combined for eight hits and three RBIs.
