Austin Russell collected three hits as the Moose Jaw Miller Express (16-13) took home a 9-5 victory over the Medicine Hat Mavericks (17-14) at Athletic Park on Thursday.

He homered in the fourth inning and singled in the first and sixth innings.

Michael Forgione had a hot bat for the Medicine Hat Mavericks. Forgione went 3-5 and scored two runs. He singled in the third, fifth, and ninth innings.

Even though Brandon Acosta allowed five runs over seven innings he still recorded the victory, his fourth of the season. He struck out two, walked none and surrendered nine hits.

Jon Rand (1-3) took the loss for the Medicine Hat Mavericks. He lasted just five innings, walked none, struck out three, and allowed five runs.
