Tuesday was a great day for Chris Sievers, as Sievers tossed a shutout to carry the Okotoks Dawgs (14-14) to an 8-0 victory over the Edmonton Prospects at Seaman Stadium.
Sievers got the win for the Okotoks Dawgs thanks to 11 strikeouts. The Okotoks Dawgs' pitcher tossed nine innings of shutout ball and allowed only two hits.
The Okotoks Dawgs blew out the Edmonton Prospects (12-18) thanks to 11 hits, including zero extra base hits. The Okotoks Dawgs scored four runs in the sixth on the Okotoks Dawgs scored in the sixth on an error, a three-run single by Jordan Peterson, and a double by Mario Sanchez.
Peterson was hot from the plate for the Okotoks Dawgs. Peterson went 3-4, drove in one and scored three runs.
Blake Mitchell was charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted just 3 2/3 innings, walked none, struck out three, and allowed two runs.
