The Okotoks Dawgs (5-9) used a five-run explosion in the eighth inning to get past the Medicine Hat Mavericks (8-5) 15-5 on Friday at Seaman Stadium.

The Okotoks Dawgs scored in the eighth on a two-run double by Jordan Peterson, a solo home run by Connor Crane, , and a solo home run by Jake Simmerman.

Mark Riendeau racked up four RBIs on four hits for the Okotoks Dawgs. He doubled in the seventh inning and singled in the second, fourth, and eighth innings.

Blake Rowlett had three extra-base hits for the Medicine Hat Mavericks. He doubled in the first and eighth innings.

Jon Richards recorded his second win of the year for the Okotoks Dawgs. He allowed three runs over 1 2/3 innings. Richards struck out two, walked one and gave up one hit.

Bryce Feia (3-1) took the loss for the Medicine Hat Mavericks. He lasted just one inning, walked one, struck out one, and allowed three runs.

The Okotoks Dawgs easily handled the Medicine Hat Mavericks pitching as seven hitters combined for 16 hits, 14 RBIs and 12 runs scored.
