Brody Hawkins went 2-4 and hit a home run as the Medicine Hat Mavericks (7-3) took home a 4-3 victory over the Okotoks Dawgs (2-8) at Seaman Stadium on Friday.

The Medicine Hat Mavericks relied on J.P. Stevenson to eat up innings en route to the win. Stevenson allowed one earned run, five hits and one walk while striking out two over six innings of work.

Mario Sanchez did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Okotoks Dawgs, reaching base three times. He scored one run and had one RBI. He singled in the first inning and homered in the sixth inning.

Chris Sievers couldn't get it done on the mound for the Okotoks Dawgs, taking a loss. He lasted just five innings, walked three, struck out five, and allowed three runs.
