A walk-off single from Jonathan Tasis brought home the winning run for the Weyburn Beavers (3-0) in a 7-6 victory over the Yorkton Cardinals (2-2) in 11 innings at Tom Laing Park on Tuesday.
Tasis racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Weyburn Beavers. He singled in the third, ninth, and eleventh innings.
Roman Lorentz had an impressive outing against the Yorkton Cardinals' lineup. The Yorkton Cardinals managed just one hit off of Lorentz, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out four during his three innings of work.
Toby Eigner recorded his first win of the year for the Weyburn Beavers. He struck out two, walked none and surrendered no hits.
Cole Roark couldn't get it done on the rubber for the Yorkton Cardinals, taking a loss. He lasted just 2 1/3 innings, walked two, struck out one, and allowed one run.
