The Swift Current Indians (0-1) failed to take advantage of great day from Sean Callegari on Saturday, losing 9-2 to the Weyburn Beavers (2-0) at Mitchell Field.

Callegari kept the Weyburn Beavers off the board during his seven innings of work. Callegari struck out eight and allowed two walks and three hits.

The offense exploded for the the Weyburn Beavers in the eighth. The Swift Current Indians had no answer as the Weyburn Beavers scored nine runs. The Weyburn Beavers scored in the eighth on an RBI single by Scott Fabre, , , , a two-run single by Nick Salentine, a two-run triple by Chaz Russo, and an error.

The Swift Current Indians jumped out to an early lead, but they were unable to hang on. The Swift Current Indians were ahead until the eighth inning, but the Weyburn Beavers would not be denied the win, taking the lead back.

Ryan Johnson got the win, running his season record to 1-0. He struck out none, walked none and surrendered two hits.

Justin Kehler (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked two, struck out none, and allowed five runs.
