Porter helps the Lethbridge Bulls down the Edmonton Prospects 8-5

The Lethbridge Bulls (2-0) beat the Edmonton Prospects (0-2) 8-5 on Saturday at Telus Field behind Brady Porter, who went 2-3.

He singled in the fourth and seventh innings.

The Edmonton Prospects had no answer for Kregg Snook, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Edmonton Prospects managed just one hit off of the the Lethbridge Bulls' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out three during his two innings of work.

Trevor Meleski had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He doubled in the first and fifth innings and singled in the seventh inning.

Kyle Olliges got the win, running his season record to 1-0. He allowed three runs over 4 2/3 innings. Olliges struck out six, walked three and gave up four hits.

Jeff Peach (0-1) took the loss for the Edmonton Prospects. He lasted just two innings, walked two, struck out one, and allowed three runs.
