Jebavy's effort not enough in the Danville Dans' 8-5 loss

Ronnie Jebavy both hit and pitched well for the Danville Dans (31-29), but it wasn't enough as the Danville Dans fell to the Springfield Sliders 8-5 at Robin Roberts Field on Monday.

Jebavy was hot from the plate for the Danville Dans. Jebavy went 1-4 and scored two runs. He singled in the eighth inning.

The Springfield Sliders (14-45) couldn't get anything going as long as Jebavy was pitching. Jebavy held the Springfield Sliders hitless over two-thirds of an inning, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out none.

Taylor Carlson racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Springfield Sliders. He homered in the sixth inning and singled in the fourth and seventh innings.

Geoff Boylston improved to 2-5 on the year by picking up the win for the Springfield Sliders. He allowed three runs over five innings. He struck out three, walked five and surrendered one hit.

Keith Shumaker (0-1) took the loss for the Danville Dans. He lasted just three innings, walked none, struck out two, and allowed four runs.
