Early lead not enough for the Lorain County Ironmen, drop 5-1 decision to the West Virginia Miners

The Lorain County Ironmen (18-31) jumped out to an early lead, but were unable to hold on and lost 5-1 to the West Virginia Miners (31-19) on Thursday.

While the Lorain County Ironmen led until the sixth inning, the West Virginia Miners worked their way back and took the lead on an RBI triple by Taylor Kellner.

Mike Brosseau did his best to jumpstart the offense for the West Virginia Miners, reaching base three times. He doubled in the fourth inning and singled in the eighth inning.

Patrick LaGanke struck out six hitters en route to the the West Virginia Miners win. LaGanke allowed one earned run, three hits and four walks over six innings.

Corbin Angermeier (0-1) took the loss for the Lorain County Ironmen. He lasted just 2 1/3 innings, walked none, struck out one, and allowed two runs.
