Sergakis' walk-off single send the Richmond RiverRats home winners, 12-11

A walk-off single from Nick Sergakis brought home the winning run for the Richmond RiverRats (17-28) in a 12-11 victory over the West Virginia Miners at McBride Stadium on Friday.

Sergakis got on base three times in the game for the Richmond RiverRats. He scored one run and had one RBI. He singled in the ninth inning.

The two teams combined for 23 runs and 27 hits, including zero extra base hits. Both bullpens were busy with eight pitchers used in the game as the skippers of both squads tried to finish it off.

JD Rainwater racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Richmond RiverRats. He doubled in the fifth inning and singled in the second and eighth innings.

Matt Brankle recorded his second win for the Richmond RiverRats even though he allowed five runs over 1 2/3 innings. Brankle struck out four, walked none and gave up six hits.

Dalton Curtis couldn't get it done on the hill for the West Virginia Miners (30-18), taking a loss. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked none, struck out none, and allowed three runs.
