The Champion City Kings (19-29) and the Danville Dans (27-23) both threatened with rallies, but it was the Champion City Kings that eventually took advantage of them in an 8-5 win at Davidson Stadium.

Alex Fife did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Champion City Kings, reaching base three times. He scored three runs and had one RBI. He singled in the fifth inning.

Corbin Olmstead was hot from the plate for the Danville Dans. Olmstead went 3-4, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the fifth, sixth, and eighth innings.

Ryan Shockey recorded his second win of the year for the Champion City Kings. He allowed two runs over five innings. Shockey struck out two, walked two and gave up six hits.

Trevor Sutton couldn't get it done on the hill for the Danville Dans, taking a loss. He lasted just 3 2/3 innings, walked three, struck out one, and allowed four runs.
