Three first-inning runs helped the Danville Dans (19-11) to a 6-2 win over the Hannibal Cavemen (14-14) at Danville Stadium on Saturday.
The Danville Dans scored in the first on a sacrifice fly by Keith Shumaker, an RBI single by Tyler Selesky, and an RBI double by Cody Gardner.
Shumaker went a perfect 3-3 at the dish for the Danville Dans.
The Danville Dans relied on Dalton Lundeen to eat up innings en route to the win. Lundeen allowed two earned runs, seven hits and no walks while striking out four over seven innings of work.
Brendan Kleekamp (0-1) took the loss for the Hannibal Cavemen. He lasted just six innings, walked none, struck out three, and allowed three runs.
