The Terre Haute Rex (15-11) came out firing, but couldn't hang on to the lead, ending up on the losing side of a 5-1 ballgame against the Hannibal Cavemen (13-12) on Tuesday at Clemens Field.

The Hannibal Cavemen took the lead in the seventh inning on an RBI single by Brandon Bentson.

Jonathan Allison reached base three times in the game for the Hannibal Cavemen. He singled in the fifth and seventh innings.

Jake Eikleberry got the win for the Hannibal Cavemen thanks to nine strikeouts. Eikleberry allowed one earned run on six hits and two walks over seven innings.

James Doubet (0-1) took the loss for the Terre Haute Rex. He lasted just 2 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out none, and allowed three runs.
