The Terre Haute Rex jump on the Hannibal Cavemen early and coast to 9-2 win

The Terre Haute Rex (13-8) jumped out to an early lead on the Hannibal Cavemen (10-10) and captured a 9-2 victory on Friday at Bob Warn Field at Sycamore Stad.

With seven runs in the first three innings, the Terre Haute Rex left no doubt about the eventual outcome.

A two-run triple by Zachary Welz, a sacrifice fly by Cayce Bredlau, an RBI single by Ryan Sabo, , and an RBI single by Manuel De Jesus in the first inning and a sacrifice fly by Caleb Caton during the second inning fueled the Terre Haute Rex's offense early.

Tyler Lawrence led the Terre Haute Rex's offensive threat, as he got on base three times in the game. He doubled in the first inning and singled in the fourth innings.

Greg Jacknewitz got the win, running his season record to 1-1. He allowed two runs over six innings. Jacknewitz struck out two, walked one and gave up four hits.

Reggie Johnson couldn't get it done on the hill for the Hannibal Cavemen, taking a loss. He allowed six runs in one inning, walked three and struck out one.
