An outstanding effort by Gage Carpenter lifted the Butler Blue Sox (8-5) to a 2-0 win over the West Virginia Miners (5-9) on Thursday at Pullman Park.

Carpenter got the win for the Butler Blue Sox thanks to nine strikeouts. The Butler Blue Sox's pitcher gave up just two hits over six shutout innings.

Chase Boster (0-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just seven innings, walked none, struck out six, and allowed one run.
