Chase Boster pitched seven shutout innings to lift the West Virginia Miners (5-4) to a 2-1 win over the Chillicothe Paints (5-4) at VA Memorial Stadium.

Lance Elder had an impressive outing against the West Virginia Miners' lineup. Elder held the West Virginia Miners hitless over six innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out four.

Kyle Palmer improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the West Virginia Miners. He allowed one run over one inning. He struck out two, walked none and surrendered one hit.

Shea Murray ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked three, struck out none, and allowed two runs.
