The Champion City Kings take out the Lorain County Ironmen with help from Bennett, 2-1

The Champion City Kings (4-2) beat the Lorain County Ironmen (3-3) 2-1 on Monday at The Pipe Yard behind Jake Bennett, who went 3-3 at the plate.

He singled in the first, third, and seventh innings.

William Young had an impressive outing against the Lorain County Ironmen's lineup. Young gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out three during his three innings of work.

The Lorain County Ironmen were led by Lucas Raley's hitting. Raley went 3-4 and drove in one. He tripled in the fourth inning and singled in the first and ninth innings.

The Champion City Kings couldn't get anything going so long as Kyle Michalik was on the hill. Michalik held the Champion City Kings hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one.

Bradley Williams improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Champion City Kings. He struck out one, walked none and surrendered no hits.

Joey Stoll couldn't get it done on the mound for the Lorain County Ironmen, taking a loss. He lasted just two innings, walked none, struck out four, and allowed one run.
