LaNeve's single propels the Butler Blue Sox past the West Virginia Miners, 7-2

Three first-inning runs helped the Butler Blue Sox (2-1) to a 7-2 win over the West Virginia Miners (0-2) at Pullman Park on Friday.

The Butler Blue Sox scored in the first on an RBI single by Zac LaNeve, a groundout by Mick Fennell, and a groundout by Fennell.

LaNeve racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Butler Blue Sox.

Adam Bleday struck out seven, paving the way for a the Butler Blue Sox win. Bleday allowed one earned run on four hits and no walks over six innings.

Alex McKeon had a hot bat for the West Virginia Miners. McKeon went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He doubled in the seventh inning and singled in the eighth inning.

Cody Pope couldn't get it done on the hill for the West Virginia Miners, taking a loss. He allowed seven runs in four innings, walked one and struck out three.
