First-inning rally sparks blowout win for the Alberta, 9-2

The Alberta (3-4) jumped out to an early lead on the Saskatchewan and captured a 9-2 victory on Thursday at Parc de l��est.

With six runs in the first three innings, the Alberta left no doubt about the eventual outcome.

An RBI single by Michael Belliveau, a two-run single by Tanner Kirwir, and a two-run double by Drake Kirkwood during the first inning supplied the early offense for the Alberta.

The Alberta were led by Nolan Bumstead's hitting. Bumstead went 2-3, drove in one and scored two runs. He singled in the first inning and homered in the third inning.

Nick Vickers got the win, running his season record to 1-1. He allowed two runs over seven innings. He struck out nine, walked two and surrendered three hits.

Kendal Daniels (0-1) took the loss for the Saskatchewan (4-2). He lasted just one inning, walked none, struck out none, and allowed five runs.
