An excellent effort by Bubba Derby carried the Bethesda Big Train (1-1) to an 8-0 win over the Rockville Express on Thursday at Shirley Povich Field.
Derby's nine strikeouts were enough to push the Bethesda Big Train past the Rockville Express (1-2). The Bethesda Big Train's pitcher tossed seven innings of shutout ball and allowed only two hits.

Ryne Willard put himself in scoring position with three extra-base hits for the Bethesda Big Train. He singled in the first inning, homered in the sixth inning, and doubled in the fourth and eighth innings.
