A walk-off single from R.J. Dennard brought home the winning run for the Baltimore Redbirds (25-17) in a 5-4 victory over the Herndon Braves (10-34) at Calvert Hall HS on Monday.
Dennard racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Baltimore Redbirds. He doubled in the fifth inning and singled in the first and ninth innings.
Matt Campbell reached base four times. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He singled in the first, fourth, and ninth innings.
Nick Grant put together a nice outing. Grant held the Herndon Braves hitless over 1 2/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out two.
Nick Morabito did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Herndon Braves, reaching base three times. He scored one run and had one RBI. He singled in the fourth and sixth innings.
Brandon Hinkle got the win, running his season record to 3-0. Hinkle struck out two, walked one and gave up two hits.
Jonathan Harasin couldn't get it done on the bump for the Herndon Braves, taking a loss. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out none, and allowed one run.
