The Ballantyne Smokies (22-14) jumped out to an early lead, but were unable to hold on and lost 5-1 to the Lake Norman Copperheads (26-14) on Sunday.

Brandon Rawe did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Lake Norman Copperheads, reaching base three times. He scored one run and had one RBI. He singled in the fourth and fifth innings.

Chris Hassold picked up the win for the Lake Norman Copperheads. Hassold pitched six innings and allowed one earned run, five hits and two walks while striking out one.

Sean Stephenson (2-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just four innings, walked three, struck out two, and allowed three runs.
