The Vienna River Dogs (17-19) and the Alexandria Aces (22-15) each put runners in scoring position on Tuesday, but the Vienna River Dogs capitalized on more RBI opportunities, pulling out a 4-0 win at James Madison.

The Alexandria Aces had no answer for Denis Mikush, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Alexandria Aces managed just one hit off of Mikush, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during his two innings of work.

Mark Gunst got the win, running his season record to 1-0. Gunst struck out four, walked four and gave up seven hits.

Shelby Dixon (0-2) took the loss for the Alexandria Aces. He lasted just 4 2/3 innings, walked four, struck out three, and allowed four runs.
