Joe Bertone went 2-3 as the Lake Norman Copperheads (21-12) took home a 3-1 victory over the Statesville Owls (17-15) in seven innings at Statesville Aggies Home Field on Wednesday.

Aaron Spano brought the heat against the Statesville Owls during his outing. The Statesville Owls managed just two hits off of Spano, who allowed one earned run, walked five and struck out two during his 5 2/3 innings of work.

Zach Slagle ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just three innings, walked two, struck out none, and allowed three runs.
