The Lake Norman Copperheads (18-12) beat the Pineville Pioneers (12-16) 4-3 in seven innings on Monday at Hopewell HS behind Brett Huffman, who went 1-2.

Blaise Whitman brought the heat against the Pineville Pioneers during his outing. The Pineville Pioneers managed just two hits off of the the Lake Norman Copperheads' pitcher, who allowed one earned run, walked one and struck out seven during his six innings of work.

Austin Bryant was solid at the plate for the Pineville Pioneers. Bryant went 2-2, drove in one and scored one run. He doubled in the first inning.

Josh Russell recorded his second win of the year for the Lake Norman Copperheads. He allowed two runs over one inning. Russell struck out one, walked none and gave up three hits.

Trevor Hutto (1-1) took the loss for the Pineville Pioneers. He lasted just zero innings, walked none, struck out none, and allowed one run.
