The Bethesda Big Train (19-6) jumped on the Vienna River Dogs (10-15) early on their way to a 7-2 win on Thursday at James Madison High School, scoring five runs in the first inning.
Josh Spano racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Bethesda Big Train. He doubled in the third inning and singled in the first and fifth innings.
Kit Scheetz had an impressive outing against the Vienna River Dogs' lineup. The Vienna River Dogs managed just two hits off of Scheetz, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out four during his four innings of work.
Brock Larson got the win, running his season record to 3-0. He allowed one run over five innings. He struck out two, walked four and surrendered five hits.
Mitchell MacKeith (1-1) took the loss for the Vienna River Dogs. He allowed seven runs in four innings, walked four and struck out three.
