The Licking County Settlers need extra frames to finish the So. Ohio Copperheads, win 5-4

The Licking County Settlers (12-7) took home a marathon 5-4 victory over the So. Ohio Copperheads (13-6) on Sunday at Don Edwards Field.

With the score tied at four, Zyke Bailey came to the plate and singled, scoring David Wolak.

Josh Carpenter was hot from the plate for the Licking County Settlers. Carpenter went 3-4 and drove in one. He singled in the third and fourth innings and doubled in the seventh inning.

Connor Murphy brought the heat against the So. Ohio Copperheads during his outing. The So. Ohio Copperheads managed just one hit off of Murphy, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three during his three innings of work.

Jesse Puscheck had three extra-base hits for the So. Ohio Copperheads. He doubled in the first and fourth innings and homered in the tenth innings.

John Clark improved to 2-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Licking County Settlers. He allowed one run over two-thirds of an inning. He struck out none, walked none and surrendered two hits.

Anthony Misiewicz (0-1) took the loss for the So. Ohio Copperheads. He lasted just 2 2/3 innings, walked one, struck out five, and allowed three runs.
