The Licking County Settlers make the most of 11 hits in 6-4 victory over the Cincinnati Steam

The Licking County Settlers (10-7) and the Cincinnati Steam (10-8) both threatened with rallies, but it was the Licking County Settlers that eventually took advantage of them in a 6-4 win at Don Edwards Field.

Matt Smith paced the Licking County Settlers at the plate. Smith went 3-4 and scored one run. He doubled in the second inning and singled in the fourth and seventh innings.

Robby Sunderman was hot from the plate for the Cincinnati Steam. Sunderman went 3-5. He singled in the fifth and seventh innings and doubled in the ninth inning.

The Licking County Settlers couldn't get anything going as long as Conner Stevens was on the mound. Stevens gave up just two hits, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during his 3 2/3 innings of work.

Charles Cooper recorded his third win of the year for the Licking County Settlers. He allowed three runs over six innings. Cooper struck out two, walked two and gave up seven hits.

Wynston McMartin couldn't get it done on the rubber for the Cincinnati Steam, taking a loss. He allowed six runs in 3 1/3 innings, walked two and struck out three.
