Tim Yandel went 1-2, helping the Bethesda Big Train (12-3) to a 3-1 victory over the Vienna River Dogs (6-7) on Monday at Shirley Povich Field.
He singled in the first innings.The Vienna River Dogs had no answer for Cody Mizelle, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Mizelle held the Vienna River Dogs hitless over 2 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.
Despite the loss, the Vienna River Dogs' Bryson Hough dominated the Bethesda Big Train's batters, giving up three runs and striking out seven.
Hough was charged with his first loss of the year.
