The Cotuit Kettleers (1-0) and the Orleans Firebirds (0-1) both had scoring chances on Wednesday, but it was the Cotuit Kettleers that were able to capitalize on them as they pulled out a 4-2 win at Lowell Park.

Eric Karch recorded his first win of the year for the Cotuit Kettleers. He allowed one run over 2 2/3 innings. Karch struck out one, walked none and gave up two hits.

Colin Welmon was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just 3 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed two runs.
