Taylor Fisher went 2-2, sparking the Ballantyne Smokies (14-10) to a 6-2 victory in seven innings over the Statesville Owls (10-12) on Monday at Ardrey Kell HS.

The Statesville Owls had no answer for Johnny Piedmonte, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Statesville Owls managed just two hits off of Piedmonte, who allowed two earned runs, walked two and struck out six during his five innings of work.

Jalen Shuffler racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Statesville Owls. He homered in the third inning.

Keith Little brought the heat against the Ballantyne Smokies during his outing. The Ballantyne Smokies managed just one hit off of the the Statesville Owls' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three during his 1 2/3 innings of work.

Zach Slagle (2-1) took the loss for the Statesville Owls. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked two, struck out two, and allowed two runs.
