Ian Edmiston went 2-4, sparking the Lake Norman Copperheads (6-4) to a 4-2 victory over the Statesville Owls (2-6) on Monday.
He doubled in the second inning and singled in the fourth inning.Mathew Ferraiolo handled the Statesville Owls' lineup with ease, racking up six strikeouts. Ferraiolo allowed one earned run on three hits and three walks over five innings.
Brenan Daniels pitched nine innings and allowed no earned runs, 10 hits and one walk while striking out five.
Joey McAlpin improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Lake Norman Copperheads. He allowed one run over one inning. McAlpin struck out none, walked none and gave up one hit.
Daniels ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year.
