The Victoria Generals seize victory thanks to late single, drop the Woodlands Strykers 7-5

The Victoria Generals (3-1) outlasted the Woodlands Strykers (0-3) on Thursday after seven lead changes, squeaking out a 7-5 win at Strykers Stadium.

The Victoria Generals would not relinquish the lead as the Woodlands Strykers were unable to weather a three-run seventh inning deficit.

The Woodlands Strykers scored one run in the eighth on an error. Still, the Woodlands Strykers couldn't catch the Victoria Generals.

Mac Seibert racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Victoria Generals. He doubled in the fifth inning and singled in the second and seventh innings.

The Woodlands Strykers couldn't get anything going so long as Kirby Bellow was on the hill. The Woodlands Strykers managed just two hits off of the the Victoria Generals' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out six during his three innings of work.

Josh Urban recorded his first win of the year for the Victoria Generals. He allowed four runs over five innings. He struck out eight, walked two and surrendered five hits.

Greg Jakusik was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked none, struck out two, and allowed two runs.
